We are currently seeking a Production Scheduler to join our team.

Please note this is a 6-month contract opportunity with the possibility of an extension.

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the delivery of an executable Production Scheduling Plan that meets business objectives while maximizing production efficiency
  • Ensure a smooth workflow of orders from the release of production documents to shipping – paying particular concern to production load, capacity, plant efficiencies, and customer service
  • Work closely with the Production Manager to identify and address capacity constraints
  • Act as a liaison between Production/ PM/CSR/ Material Handling, and Purchasing departments
  • Anticipate future bottlenecks, extract data and coordinate with production supervisors to allocate resources during production surges
  • Identify and report capacity and/or material supply problems well in advance and convey purchasing requisition for material procurement
  • Attend and take an active role in weekly and daily production meetings with the Production Manager and Production supervisors to review and monitor production progress on a daily basis as compared to the schedule
  • Assist Production manager in various continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare reports regarding production loads, capacities, demand, etc.
 
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Combination of experience and relevant training will be considered
  • Diploma in relevant field (manufacturing/production scheduling/supply chain management) an asset
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a requirement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated positive attitude, initiative, the ability to work well with others under minimal supervision
  • High level of interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, build teams and work within/lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills, and project planning skills
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills needed for strategic thinking and planning
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines, multi-task and follow up.
