Job Description:
Purchaser – Amico Source

Responsibilities:

Prepare and executing RFQs
Liaise with cross functional teams (suppliers, production, customer service) to ensure goods are available to meet production requirements
Negotiate terms and delivery for lowest total cost
Continually seek opportunities to improve services and reduce costs, including freight
Review purchase requisition requests daily
Expedite overdue orders and rush requests
Prioritize emails and daily tasks with minimal supervision
Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
Follow up with suppliers/vendors, as needed, to confirm change orders

Qualifications:
Formal College or University education
Highly organized, creative, and self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional oral communication and written skills
Purchasing/Sourcing experience
Ability to think outside the box and provide innovative ideas to improve team processes
Demonstrated experience managing suppliers, performance, and developing long-term relationships
Keen learner and ability to develop thorough product knowledge
Forecasting and inventory management
Ability to speak Mandarin is an asset
Knowledge of Spire and/or SAP is an asset
Experience in manufacturing industry is an asset
