Job Summary


Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data related to manufacturing of suction & oxygen therapy medical devices (flowmeters, suction regulators) and patient room furniture (overbed tables, mother baby equipment, casegoods, carts).

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Engineering Drafting Technologist will work within a team of engineers and developers to perform one or more of the following:
  • Be part of the Drawing Team working on support of current products and new product development initiatives
  • Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data
  • Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets to support contracts and tender documents
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
  • Perform calculations and analysis under supervision
  • Write technical reports
  • Operate CAD and drafting workstations
  • Participate in design reviews for new parts and products when required
  • Assist in any other duties as required by the Drawing Team Leader and Engineering Manager
Education & Experience Requirements
  • College Diploma or Apprenticeship Certification in engineering design and drafting technology
  • 2-3 years of proven relevant working experience in the area of engineering design and draft technology using SolidWorks (2024 or above) for 3D solid modelling and 2D drawing/detailing
  • Working knowledge of drafting standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5) and GD&T
  • Exposure to ISO quality systems (ISO 9001 or ISO 13485) and manufacturing environment an asset
  • Working knowledge of furniture design an asset

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
