Accounting Manager (18–24 Month Contract) Amico Lights – Richmond Hill, ON
Amico Lights is part of the Amico Group of Companies, a leading manufacturer of Medical Equipment and Architectural Products with 9 manufacturing facilities employing over 1,100 people across North America. Operating as a focused and growing business unit, Amico Lights specializes in providing innovative lighting solutions for healthcare environments. We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join the Amico Lights team at our Richmond Hill location.
Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting. This role manages core accounting activities including payables, receivables, payroll, reconciliations, and government remittances, while supporting financial controls and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting operations (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable) to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Process bi-weekly payments (WIRE, EFT, ACH)
Maintain the general ledger on a daily basis
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliation
Prepare monthly government remittances (WSIB, HST, PST)
Produce monthly financial statements and reports
Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP
Coordinate with external accountants for annual income tax filings
Monitor and manage cash flow by evaluating revenue and expenses
Establish, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, processes, and efficiencies
Qualifications:
Accounting Certificate or degree
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or operational environment
Strong working knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and month-end closing
Experience with ERP systems (Spire / SAP is considered an asset)
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with a variety of individuals and functions throughout the company
Computer proficiency with MS Office Applications. Experience with Spire and SAP is an asset.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
