We are currently seeking a purchasing agent for our Source division!
Responsibilities:
- Process requisitions and purchase orders
- Initiate and follow up with RFQ and POs with suppliers
- Expediting overdue orders and rush requests
- Building relationships with suppliers
- Review MRP (inventory) replenishment
- Manage allocation of job-specific materials purchased in the event of production schedule date changes
- Liaise with cross functional teams such as suppliers, production, shipping and customer service to ensure goods are available to meet production requirements on time
- Negotiate with suppliers to purchase quality products at the best price possible
- Handle NCRs with suppliers
- Maintain up to date information on production schedule for cross functional teams to reference
- Attend regular team meetings and participate in meetings with suppliers as needed
- Other duties as required
Experience and Education Requirements:
- 2-3 years of purchasing experience preferable in a manufacturing background
- Knowledge in medical air and vacuum systems an asset
- Able to read simple manufacturing or technical drawings an asset
- Highly organized, creative and self-motivated
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Able to work independently and in team environment
- Spire experience an asset
- Computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Negotiation skills
- Working in fast paced environment
- Able to multitask
- Mandarin speaking is an asset
- Formal college or university education
- Follow company policies and procedures
